Description
The Sunny Side Of The Street represents an overall perspective that I feel is vital to surviving any difficulties in life. My painting is inspired by the song of the same name by Jimmy Mchugh and Dorothy Fields, my favorite version of which is sung by Frankie Laine. It is a song and perspective that means a lot to me, personally. The lyric is:
Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street
Can't you hear the pit-a-pat?
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade
With those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid
Because this rover crossed over
And if I never had a cent
I'd be rich as Rockefeller
With gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade
With those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid
Because this rover crossed over
And if I never had a cent
I'd be rich as Rockefeller
With gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street
